About Dr. Motzko

Dr. Motzko began his metrology career with the U.S. Air Force’s Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) program in 1961, followed by registering as a State of California Professional Engineer (1978) in Quality. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Management (with distinction) in 1982, and his MBA from UCLA in 1984. In 2008, he received his Doctor of Management based on his research involving National Measurement Institutes.

Dr. Motzko is the Senior Partner at C. A. Motzko & Associates. His consultancy is built on the premise that the real challenge going forward is training and education. He is currently teaching at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ Education Center as adjunct facility with Park University and Troy University.

As a State of California Registered Professional Engineer in Quality, Dr. Motzko helped shape the direction of test equipment management during the industry’s critical early years. Dr. Motzko has concentrated his work on test equipment management, logistics, service, support, and regulatory compliance. Dr. Motzko is considered a subject matter expert in ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3.

Dr. Motzko is Chairman of the NCSLI RP-5 Committee on “Equipment Specifications”, Member of the NCSLI RP-1 Committee on “Calibration Interval”, a Member of the NCSLI RP-12 Committee for “Measurement Uncertainty” and a Member of the NACLA’s Z540.3 Technical Advisory Group (TAG).

INTEREST

My interest are in Metrology (especially metrology education), calibration, quality management systems, measurements, management training, equipment management, new technology, technology forecasting and refresh, quality & documentary standards and methods of management performance measurements.
